ONDA supporting Vicenza Copernicus Hackathon
Within the context of the ONDA sponsorship activities, we are supporting the forthcoming Copernicus Hackathon on Space Economy, which will take place in Vicenza, Italy, on 15-16 February.
This Hackathon, organised by Confartigianato Vicenza Digital Innovation Hub, includes four macro areas: Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Machine Learning & AI, Cyber Security, Environmental Protection & Climate Change.
Our involvement in the initiative includes:
- an on-site introductory session on our platform at the Cà Foscari University in Venice, already provided in December 2019
- a live interactive webinar on Flood mapping using Copernicus data on ONDA DIAS taking place on 4 February.
Participants will learn how to access the ONDA Virtual Machine, the benefits of the direct access to the full archive available on the ONDA Catalogue and also the basics of image processing for flood mapping: the ESA SNAP software will be used to demonstrate how Sentinel-1 GRD and Sentinel-2 products can provide valuable information to derive the extent of the flooded area.
This is the first training session organised by ONDA as part of our new ONDA 4 Education - the provision – in co-operation with our market leading Cloud provider OVH – of the Cloud infrastructure for both the organisers and the participants for the months preceding the Hackathon start and during the event itself
- free access to a standard package of ONDA services as a prize to the Hackathon winning team
