Serco wins OVHcloud ‘European Space Partner of the Year’ award
Serco Europe has won OVHcloud’s ‘European Space Partner of the Year’ award during the OVHcloud Engage annual event.
This formal recognition once more illustrates the strong and successful partnership developed by the two companies over the years. Together, Serco and OVHCloud aim to further enable the use of satellite data and exploit how it can best support public services and the private sector.
Back in 2017, Serco and OVHcloud started their cooperation as part of the delivery of Copernicus Programme services. This initial collaboration rapidly turned into successful joint delivery of new services across Europe such as managing cloud solutions for the European Space Agency in Germany to support satellite operations or providing support to the French Agency for Services and Payment (ASP) to help monitor agricultural land through the ONDA DIAS cloud platform for Earth Observation.
In addition, Serco and OVHcloud are multiplying joint initiatives to support the space industry and start-ups through funding, technology, mentoring and consulting. Thanks to their combined technologies and expertise, both companies have developed a complete cloud-based offering in the field of aerospace.
Guido Vingione, Serco Space Business Development Director, says “We are thrilled to receive this award which celebrates all the work we have done together over the past few years” and he adds “through our win-win partnership Serco has gradually integrated the full range of technologies made available by OVHcloud, from computing to storage to new Artificial Intelligence solutions into operational services.”
“Today we are not only rewarding Serco Europe for its long-standing collaboration, but also the success of the joint effort that has allowed us to bring our ecosystem concept to the centre of start-ups, thanks to the constant path in improving the services that Serco offers in the aerospace industry,” said John Gazal, Vice President Southern Europe & Brazil of OVHcloud. “A vision that is based on an open-source approach, a trusted cloud that makes data sovereignty the cornerstone of any activity. Thanks to this philosophy, fully shared by Serco, we can represent an important alternative to American hyperscalers“.
